Why can’t I add a quantity greater than what’s available in stock?

The system prevents exceeding the actual quantity available in stock when adding a product to an order, unless the “Allow Negative Inventory” setting is enabled in the inventory settings — in that case, you can add a quantity greater than what’s available.
