Add New Rental Unit
The system allows you to add rental units and link them to pre-defined unit types, so you can later create reservation orders against them.
Steps to Add a New Rental Unit
- From the main menu, click on “Rental and Unit Management“.
- Click on “Units“.
- Click the “Add Unit” button.
- Enter the unit name: a unique name for the rental unit. (Mandatory)
- Select the unit type from the list. Only active unit types are shown. (Mandatory)
- Enter the priority: a number that determines the priority of selecting this unit in automatic booking. The system selects units from the lowest to the highest number. (Optional)
- Enter the description. (Optional)
- Set the status: Active or Inactive. Default: Active. (Mandatory)
Click “Save” to complete the addition, or click “Cancel” to go back to the rental units list without saving.
How the System Works on Save
Upon successful save:
- The rental unit is created with an Available status automatically.
- It appears immediately in the rental units list.
- The addition is recorded in the general activity log and in the unit’s own activity log.
Validation Rules
- The unit name must be unique and cannot be duplicated. If a duplicate name is entered, the message “This Name Already Exists” will appear.
- All mandatory fields must be filled in before saving. If any mandatory field is left empty, the message “This is a Required Field and Could Not Be Empty” will appear.
- If there is no active rental unit type in the system and you click the “Add Unit” button, the message “A unit type must be added first” will appear along with an “Add Unit Type” button to navigate directly to the add unit type form.
