Where can I keep a contracting contract with a client in Daftra?
You can save a construction contract with a client in Daftra from Contracts in the Construction app. The contract is saved with its full details (the client, project, contract value, duration, work guarantee, advance payment, and bill of quantities), along with the signed contract file as a PDF.
Adding a Construction Contract and Attaching the Contract File
- From the main menu, click Construction, then Contracts.
- Click Add Contract.
- Enter the Agreement Title, and select the Client, and the Project or Quotation if there is one.
- Enter the Contract Value, the Duration with the start and end dates, and the Retention and Advance Payment Amount if any.
- In Attachments, upload the signed contract file (PDF or image).
- Add the contract items in the Bill of Quantities, then click Save.
For full details, see the Adding and Editing a Contract and Viewing the Contract File guides.
🛈
Note: you need the Construction app enabled and the permission to add construction contracts. Each project can be linked to one contract only, and a project needs an active contract before you can add payment certificates.
If You Don’t Use the Construction App
To save only the contract file with the client’s details:
- Open the client’s page, click Add Note / Attachment, and upload the contract file with a description such as “Construction contract – 2026”. It then appears in the notes and attachments on the client’s page.
- Or attach the file in Attachments when editing the client’s details.
🛈
Note: employee contracts and lease contracts in Daftra are for employees and rented units and aren’t used for client contracts.
