What Happens to the Cost Center Tree When the Contract Is Activated?
Once the contract status is changed to “Active”, the System automatically creates a complete cost center tree based on the contract’s tender tree (main tenders, sub tenders, and work items) and the “Cost Tracking Level” selected for the project itself. You can review this tree under Accounting → Cost Centers.
The tree structure varies depending on the selected tracking level:
- “Project” Level: No detailed tree is created. The project’s own cost center, which was originally created when the project was created, is used as a single file (account) under the project folder.
- “Tenders” Level: The tree is created so that each main or sub tender appears as a folder, except when that tender directly contains one or more work items without any sub tenders beneath it. In this case, it appears as a file (account) instead of a folder. For example, if a main tender contains successive sub tenders, and the last sub tender directly contains the work items, only that last sub tender appears as a file, while everything above it (the main tender and intermediate sub tenders) remains as folders.
- “Work Item” Level: All main and sub tenders remain folders without exception, and only the work item itself appears as a file (account) at the end of each branch of the tree.
Important Note: If the project’s parent cost center has been deleted for any reason, it is automatically recreated when the contract’s cost center tree is generated.
