Can a Payment Certificate Be Edited or Deleted After It Is Issued?

The behavior depends specifically on the payment certificate’s status:

Editing:
A payment certificate with the “Approved” or “Invoiced” status cannot be edited under any circumstances. When attempting to edit it, the following message appears: “You can’t update an ‘[Status Name]’ payment certificate.” Other statuses (Draft and Issued) remain editable as normal.

Deleting:
A payment certificate can be deleted regardless of its status, including Approved and Invoiced, provided that no newer payment certificate has been created after it. If a newer payment certificate exists, the following message appears: “Payment Certificate # cannot be deleted because Payment Certificate # was created after it. Delete the newer certificate first.”

When deletion is allowed, the Delete Payment Certificate confirmation dialog appears with the following message: “This will permanently delete Payment Certificate #000008 along with its linked Sales Invoice #000011 and its journal entry. Project quantities, work item progress, and the contract’s advance payment recovery capacity will be restored. This action cannot be undone. Do you want to proceed?” The dialog includes the Delete and Cancel buttons.
