How is the “Unit Cost” value determined automatically?

The Unit Cost field is filled in automatically once the item is selected, based on the “Unit Price Calculation” setting specified in the construction settings.

• If the setting is on Average Price: the value is calculated based on the product’s average inventory value.
• If the setting is on Purchase Price: the value is calculated from the product’s recorded purchase price.

The user can always edit the value manually after it’s automatically filled in.

Note: a tip appears next to the field explaining the calculation mechanism and pointing out that the calculation method can be changed from the “Unit Price Calculation” setting in the construction settings.
