Viewing the Commission Rules List
The Commission Rules list displays all rules added to the account along with each rule’s type and status, allowing you to quickly identify how each rule is configured without needing to open individual records.
Steps to View the Commission Rules List
- Click on the “Targeted Sales & Commissions” menu.
- Click on “Commission Rules.”
- The list displays commission rules through the following columns:
- Commission Rule: The rule name and its ID number.
- Time Period: The time period for commission calculation (Monthly / Quarterly / Annually).
- Target: The target value defined in the rule along with its type (Amount / Quantity).
- Commission Type: How the rule is configured — “Fixed” for commission calculated directly on each invoice, or “Tiered” for commission calculated at the sales period level based on target achievement.
- Status: The rule status (Active / Inactive).
- You can filter the list using the following filters:
- Commission Rule Name: Search by rule name or ID number.
- Employee: Filter rules by a specific employee.
- Status: Filter rules by status (Active / Inactive).
- Time Period: Filter rules by period (Monthly / Quarterly / Annually).
- Target Type: Filter rules by target type (Amount / Quantity).
- Click “Search” to apply the filters, or “Reset” to clear the search criteria and display the full list.
- You can sort the list using the “Sort By” option by: commission rule name, commission rule type, or creation date. The default sort order is creation date descending.
- To add a new rule, click “Add Commission Rule.”
- From the actions menu (⋮) next to each rule you can perform: “View”, “Edit”, or “Delete.”
How the System Works
- The system automatically derives the “Commission Type” column value from the rule configuration, and the column is displayed for all records.
- Rules created before the Tiered Commission feature was made available all appear with the type “Fixed” automatically — their data was updated without any impact on their calculations or historical records.
- When “Delete” is clicked, a confirmation message appears: “Are you sure you want to delete this commission rule?” Click “Yes” to complete the deletion or “No” to cancel.
