Viewing Sales Period Details
The Sales Period details screen displays the target achievement percentage and total calculated commission, along with the applied commission rule, its type and tiers table, and the sales commission records associated with the period.
Steps to View a Sales Period
- Click on the “Targeted Sales & Commissions” menu.
- Click on “Sales Periods.”
- Click on the sales period you want to view.
- The screen displays the period number and its status at the top of the page (such as “Open”), along with “Approve” and “Reject” buttons for open periods, and three tabs:
“Details” tab, which includes:
- Employee: The name and ID of the employee included in the period, with a direct link to their profile.
- From / To: The period’s date range.
- Target: The defined target value, with an achievement status indicator (such as “Target Not Achieved”).
- Sales / Target: Total current achievement versus the target value with the number of items, and a progress bar visually showing the achievement percentage.
- Total Commission: A card displaying the calculated commission value and the current target achievement percentage.
- Commission Rule: The name and number of the rule linked to the period, with a direct link to its view screen.
- Commission Rule Type: “Fixed” or “Tiered” — displayed for all periods.
- Commission Tiers Table: Appears for “Tiered” type periods only, displaying the applied rule’s tiers through two columns — “Target Achievement” and “Commission” — exactly matching the tiers defined in the commission rule, allowing you to identify the current achievement position between tiers.
“Sales Commissions” tab, which displays a list of commission records associated with the period through the following columns: ID, employee, business transaction (type, number, and date), achievement amount, sales quantity, and commission — with a link to navigate to the full sales commissions list filtered on this period, and a “View” action next to each record.
“Activity Log” tab, which displays all actions performed on the period.
From the actions bar at the top of the details screen you can delete the period.
How the System Works
- The system derives the commission type from the commission rule linked to the period, and the tiers table values are loaded from the rule as-is without modification.
- For “Tiered” type periods, achievement, achievement percentage, and total commission are automatically updated with every invoice, refund, or credit note until the period is approved — while no change occurs to the behavior of fixed commission periods.
- The “Achievement Amount” column in the Sales Commissions tab displays each transaction’s contribution value, while the “Sales / Target” bar displays the approved achievement after applying the contribution percentage.
- You can navigate between sales periods directly using the navigation arrows (Previous / Next) at the top of the screen.
Notes
- In “Tiered” type periods, commission appears as a dash “–” in individual sales commission records inside the “Sales Commissions” tab, because commission is calculated at the period level as a whole rather than per record — see the “Viewing Sales Commission Details” article.
- The “Target Achievement” column values in the tiers table may appear as fixed values rather than always as percentages, depending on the rule configuration.
