Collecting Payment and Converting an Order to an Invoice
After building an order, you can collect payment and issue an invoice directly from the order panel, or save the order without an invoice to collect payment later. This article explains the steps for collecting payment and converting an order into an invoice.
Before You Begin
Only the payment methods enabled in the account’s payment settings will appear at checkout.
Options Available at the Bottom of the Order Panel
After building an order, two buttons appear at the bottom of the order panel:
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Add Order | Saves the order and sends it to the kitchen without issuing an invoice — the order remains available for payment collection later from the queue |
| Issue Invoice | Converts the order directly into an invoice, bypassing the separate “Order” step |
Applying a Discount to the Order (Before Collection)
At the bottom of the order panel, there’s a Discount field that allows you to:
- Enter the discount value.
- Switch between discount type: percentage (%) or fixed amount ($) using the two buttons shown within the field.
The total shown above this field updates automatically once the discount is applied.

When you click “Issue Invoice,” the “Payment” window opens, containing:
- A list of payment methods (on the left) — showing only the enabled methods, such as: Cash on Delivery, Pay tabs, Bank Transfer, Cheque, Cash.
- Click the required payment method to activate the amount input field.
- Enter the amount to be collected using the built-in numeric keypad in the window.
At the top of the window, the invoice details appear:
- Total: The order’s grand total.
- When expanded: the subtotal and tax shown as two separate line items.
Directly below that:
- PAID: The total amount collected so far.
- LEFT: The amount still due.
To split the payment across more than one method, repeat selecting another method and enter a portion of the amount for each one, each payment is added to the “PAYMENTS” list shown in the middle column.
After entering all the required payments, click “Confirm Payment” to complete the process and issue the invoice, or “Close” to back out without collecting payment.
Important Notes
- The “Confirm Payment” button remains disabled until a payment method is selected and a valid amount is entered.
- You can leave part of the “Remaining” amount uncollected and click “Confirm Payment” if the account allows partial payment — the difference stays recorded as an unpaid amount on the invoice.
- The “Payments” column displays a list of every payment added within the same transaction, allowing you to review them before final confirmation.
- “Issue Invoice” automatically creates the invoice in the system , pre-filled with the product, client, employee, and branch data.
