Adding Loyalty Points Variables to Invoice Templates

This feature allows you to add two new variables to the printable sales invoice template: Earned Loyalty Points and Loyalty Points Balance, enabling clients to view their loyalty points information directly on the invoice without needing to check it separately.

Before You Start

This feature requires activating the Clients Loyalty Points app. To do this, go to Settings from the main menu, then select Apps Manager.

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Templates.
2. Select Printable Templates.
3. Click Estimates & Invoices.
4. Click the template you want, or create a new template by clicking New Layout, then selecting a template.
5. Click Custom Fields.
6. Click Add More Fields.
7. Add Earned Loyalty Points and/or Loyalty Points Balance to the template as needed.
8. Click Save.

How the System Works

• The Earned Loyalty Points variable displays the number of loyalty points the client earned specifically from this invoice. If no points were earned (for example, if the invoice does not meet the minimum spending requirement or the client has no loyalty rule assigned), the variable displays a value of 0.
• The Loyalty Points Balance variable displays the client’s total loyalty points balance after this invoice, including the points earned from it. If the client has no loyalty points balance, the variable displays a value of 0.
• Both variables work correctly across all display modes: on-screen preview, printing, PDF export, and email and SMS templates.
• These two variables appear under Custom Fields only when the Client Loyalty Points app is active. If the app is inactive, they are completely hidden from the custom fields list.
• If the Client Loyalty Points app is deactivated after these variables have already been used in an existing template, the variables are also hidden from the printed version and do not appear as long as the app remains inactive, even if they are still included in the template design.
