Displaying Product Images in Sales Invoice Details

This feature allows accounting users to view the product image next to each line item on a sales invoice directly from the “Details” tab, making it easier to visually identify products without having to search for them separately.

Before You Begin

• The user must have the “View His Own Invoices” or “View All Invoices” permission to access the sales invoice view screen.

Steps to View Product Images in the Invoice

1. Open a sales invoice view screen. For more details, see the Viewing a Sales Invoice article.
2. Navigate to the “Details” tab.
3. A thumbnail image will appear next to each line item’s name within the “Item” column in the invoice lines table.

How the System Works

• A generic placeholder icon appears instead of the actual image in two cases: if the product has no uploaded image, or if the line item is a free-text line not linked to an actual product.
• If all invoice lines have no image, the placeholder icon disappears entirely from all lines. However, if at least one line has an actual image, the placeholder icon still appears for the other lines that don’t have an image.
• Clicking the thumbnail opens a larger preview of it; the image is view-only and cannot be edited from the invoice view screen.
