What is the difference between Fixed Commission and Tiered Commission, and which should I choose?
The system provides two methods for calculating sales commissions:
- Fixed Commission: Calculated directly on each qualifying invoice, either as a percentage of the line item value or a fixed amount, with no link to target achievement. Suitable when you want to reward every sale immediately and directly.
- Tiered Commission: Calculated at the sales period level based on the employee’s achievement percentage against a defined target, with the commission value progressing between tiers you define in advance. Suitable when you want to tie commission to performance and motivate employees to achieve sales targets.
Note: You can switch between the two methods freely while configuring the rule without losing any data from either type, only the selected type at the time of saving is finalized.
