Viewing and Navigating the Booking Calendar

The system’s booking calendar allows you to view all bookings in a visually organized layout by date and employee, with the ability to navigate between days and months and quickly access any booking.

Before You Begin

  • Make sure you have the permission to manage bookings in your role.

Steps to Open the Booking Calendar

  1. From the main menu click “Bookings“.
  2. Click “Manage Bookings“.
  3. The calendar screen appears immediately showing the current month or day depending on the last saved setting.

Available View Modes

The calendar view can be changed from the dropdown menu at the top left of the screen:

  • Month: Displays all days of the month in a weekly grid — suitable for tracking bookings over the full month.
  • Week: Displays the current week’s days with bookings distributed by employee and time.
  • Day: Displays a single day’s bookings in full detail split by employee.

Navigating Between Dates

  • Click the next arrow to move to the next month, week, or day.
  • Click the previous arrow to go back to the previous month, week, or day.
  • Click the “Today” button to return to the current date immediately.
  • Click directly on the date field in the center and type or select a specific date to jump to it directly.

Bookings appear on the calendar in two different forms:

  • Scheduled booking: Appears with the start time and client name — for example: 12:00 AM — John Doe. Sorted in ascending order by start time.
  • Waiting booking: Appears with an hourglass icon instead of a time and the client name — no fixed start time. Always appears at the top of the column before all scheduled bookings.

The "Unassigned" Column

If the Allow Unassigned Bookings setting is enabled:

  • Select Unassigned from the staff dropdown at the top of the calendar.
  • A new column named Unassigned appears at the beginning of the calendar displaying bookings that are not assigned to any employee.
  • The same ordering rules apply to this column — waiting bookings appear at the top followed by scheduled bookings in ascending order.

Adding a New Booking from the Calendar

  • Click the + button at the top of the screen to open the add new booking form directly.
  • Or click directly on any empty time slot in the calendar to open the add form with the date and time pre-filled.

Design Settings

Click the gear icon in the calendar toolbar to access calendar display customization settings such as cancelled bookings, block time, and general application settings.

Notes

  • Clicking on any booking in the calendar opens a popup showing a summary of the booking details with links to the full view or edit form.
  • In the monthly view bookings appear as abbreviated events — switch to the daily or weekly view to see more details.
  • The current session details (branch name and date) always appear at the top of the screen.
