Is the Tracking Type Saved in the Product Data After Adding It from the Invoice?
Yes. When you click New Product from the items list in the invoice, the same product add form opens. The tracking type you choose in the Inventory Management section is saved in the product data, appears on its page in Products & Services, and applies to it in all later sales and purchase transactions, including the invoice you added it from.
The available tracking types: Serial Number, Lot Number, Expiry Date, Lot Number And Expiry Date and Quantity Only.

Note: The Tracking Type field appears only if the Inventory and Product Tracking apps are enabled, and when you check Track Stock, choosing a tracking type becomes required. You can’t add a tracking type to services. If you want to change the tracking type later for a product that has stock transactions, you must turn on Allow negative tracking items in Inventory & Products Settings.
