Edit Rental Unit

The system allows you to edit the data of a rental unit after it has been created, while keeping its link to the original unit type unchanged.

Steps to Edit a Rental Unit

  • From the main menu, click on Rental and Unit Management.
  • Click on Units.
  • Search for the desired rental unit in the list.
  • Click the edit icon next to the unit, or open the unit and click the Edit button from the view page.
  • Modify the required data:
    • Unit name: a unique name for the rental unit. (Mandatory)
    • Unit type: this field is disabled after creation and cannot be changed.
    • Priority. (Optional)
    • Description. (Optional)
    • Status: Active or Inactive. (Mandatory)

Click Save to complete the edit, or click Cancel to go back without saving.

How the System Works on Save

  • The rental unit data is updated immediately.
  • The system automatically redirects to the rental unit view page.
  • The edit is recorded in the general activity log and in the unit’s own activity log.

Validation Rules

  • The unit name must be unique and cannot be duplicated. If a duplicate name is entered, the message “This Name Already Exists” will appear.
  • All mandatory fields must be filled in before saving. If any mandatory field is left empty, the message “This is a Required Field and Could Not Be Empty” will appear.
  • The unit type cannot be changed after the rental unit has been created.
