Link Task to a Record in the System

This feature enables users to link a task to a specific record within a specific module in the system, allowing them to track the task progress and navigate directly to the linked record when needed.

Before You Start

  • Ensure that the Task Management app is enabled through Apps Manager by navigating to Settings from the main menu.
  • This action is available in all task statuses: To Do, In Progress, and Completed.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Task Management.
  2. Click Tasks.
  3. Click on the required task from the Task List.
  4. Click Link Module in the Actions bar at the top of the Task Details screen.
    • A window appears containing two fields: Target Module (pre-filled with the module selected when the task was created) and Record (a searchable drop-down list).
    • To find the required record, you can search by the record name or code, paste a copied name or code, select from the suggested results, or select from recently created records within the selected module.
  5. Select the required record, then click Save.

How the System Works

  • The Target Module field is automatically generated with the module selected when the task was created.
  • The Record list supports searching by name or code, pasting copied text, selecting from suggested results, and displaying recently created records within the selected module.
  • When the record selection is confirmed, the Record Code is linked to the task, and the Module navigation link becomes active and clickable to navigate directly to the record.
  • This action is available regardless of the current task status. It works when the task is To Do, In Progress, or Completed, unlike Re-Assign, which is not available when the task is completed.

Validation Rules

  • The available Module options depend on the modules previously enabled from the Linked Module Configuration screen.
