Delete Task
This feature enables authorized users to delete a task that is no longer required, keeping the Task List accurate and free of unused tasks.
Before You Start
- Ensure that the Task Management app is enabled through Apps Manager by navigating to Settings from the main menu.
- You must have both the Delete Task and View Task permissions to use this feature.
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone after confirmation.
2. Steps
You can delete a task in two ways:
Method 1: From the Task List
- From the main menu, click Task Management.
- Click Tasks.
- From the required task row, click the Actions icon, then select Delete. A confirmation message appears: “Are you sure you want to delete this task?” with two options: Yes and No.
- Click Yes to permanently delete the task.
Method 2: From the Task Details Screen
- From the main menu, click Task Management.
- Click Tasks.
- Click on the required task from the Task List.
- Click Delete in the Actions bar at the top of the Task Details screen. A confirmation message appears: “Are you sure you want to delete this task?” with two options: Yes and No.
- Click Yes to permanently delete the task.
How the System Works
- When you click No in the confirmation message, the message closes, no changes occur, and the task remains unchanged.
- When you click Yes in the confirmation message, the task is permanently deleted from the system and immediately disappears from the Task List.
- If the Task Details screen is open when the task is deleted, it closes automatically after deletion.
- The deletion action is recorded in the Activity Log.
Validation Rules
- A task cannot be deleted without confirming the deletion through the confirmation message.
- A task cannot be restored after it has been deleted.
- The Delete Task option is available only when the user has both the Delete Task and View Task permissions.
