Configuring Onboarding and Offboarding Task Flows

This screen lets you enable the onboarding and offboarding feature, and select the default task template automatically used when launching onboarding or offboarding tasks for any employee, without needing to select a template manually each time. This article explains the activation and configuration steps.

Before You Begin

  • At least one task template must exist to select as the default, see the “Creating a Task Template” article first if you haven’t created any templates yet.
  • You must have the “Manage Task Settings” permission to access this screen.

Accessing the Screen

  1. From the main menu, click “Employees.”
  2. Click “Settings.”
  3. Click the “Onboarding and Offboarding” card.

Navigation Path: Employees > Settings > Onboarding and Offboarding

Activation and configuration steps

Field Required Details
Enable Employee Onboarding Tasks Yes, to activate the feature Once enabled, onboarding tasks can be launched from any new employee’s profile
Onboarding Task Template Yes, if onboarding is enabled Used automatically when launching onboarding tasks, and can be changed later
Enable Employee Offboarding Tasks Yes, to activate the feature Once enabled, offboarding tasks can be launched from any employee’s profile
Offboarding Task Template Yes, if offboarding is enabled Used automatically when launching offboarding tasks, and can be changed later

Click “Save” to apply the settings.

How the System Behaves Once Enabled

  • After activation and selecting a default template, a “Launch Tasks” button (for onboarding or offboarding) appears on every employee’s profile.
  • When launching tasks from an employee’s profile, the default template is suggested automatically, with the option to select a different template or edit the tasks before launching.
  • Disabling the feature does not affect tasks that were already launched; it only prevents launching new tasks of that type going forward.

Important Notes

  • Activation cannot be saved without selecting a default template linked to it.
  • The default template can be changed at any time from this screen without affecting flows that were already launched using the previous template.
