Enabling / Disabling Approval Configurations

The system allows you to enable or disable any approval configuration directly from the “Approval Configurations” list, without needing to open the configuration itself. When a configuration is disabled, the system stops using it to match any new approval requests.

Before You Begin

You must have the “Manage Attendance Settings” or “Manage HR System” permission to access this screen.

Steps to Deactivate an Approval Configuration

  1. From the main menu, click “Attendance,” then “Attendance Settings.”
  2. Click the “Approval Configurations” card to view the list of configurations.
  3. From the row of the required configuration, click “Activate/Deactivate.”
  4. A confirmation message appears: “Are you sure you want to deactivate this configuration?”
  5. Click “Yes” to confirm.

After confirming, the message “{Configuration Name} Configuration was deactivated successfully” appears, and the configuration’s status in the list updates to “Inactive.”

Steps to Reactivate a Configuration

  1. From the “Approval Configurations” list, click “Activate/Deactivate” next to the required configuration.
  2. The configuration’s status immediately changes to “Active,” with no additional confirmation needed.

What Happens to Linked Requests When Deactivating?

  • Ongoing Requests: Any leave or approval request that was linked to the configuration and is still being processed is unaffected — it continues normally without interruption until completion.
  • Finalized Requests: A request that has already been approved through this configuration cannot be undone; the system explicitly blocks this action, regardless of the configuration’s current status.
  • Future Requests: A disabled configuration is not used to match any new requests until it’s reactivated.

Notes

  • You can deactivate an approval configuration at any time, regardless of whether linked requests are still being processed.
  • Deactivating does not permanently delete the configuration from the system — it can be reactivated at any time and used again.
