Why can’t the asset be assigned to an employee?
The system completely hides the “Assign Asset” button from the asset screen’s action bar in one of the following cases:
- Statuses set from the employee asset screen itself:
- “Under Maintenance”: after clicking “Send to Maintenance.”
- “Retired”: after clicking “Retire Asset.”
- Statuses set from the linked accounting asset’s screen (which automatically reflect on the employee asset):
- “Sold”: after performing the “Sell” action.
- “Written Off”: after performing the “Write off” action.
- “Depreciated”: after recording manual depreciation covering the full value of the asset.
In all of these cases, the “Assign Asset” button automatically disappears from the employee asset screen’s action bar, and the assignment cannot be performed until the asset’s status returns to one of the allowed statuses: “Not Assigned”, “Assigned”, or “In Storage.”
