Cloning an Allocated Shift

The system allows you to clone an existing allocated shift to create a new one with the same data, saving time when setting up similar allocations.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the Manage Attendance Settings permission in your assigned role.

Steps to Clone an Allocated Shift

You can clone an allocated shift in two ways:

From the list:

  1. From the main menu, click on “Attendance”.
  2. Click on “Allocated Shifts”.
  3. Click the ··· icon next to the allocated shift you wish to clone.
  4. Click “Clone”.

From the view page:

  1. Open the allocated shift you wish to clone.
  2. Click the “Clone” button at the top of the page.

What Happens After Clicking "Clone"

The system opens a new Create Allocated Shift form with all the source allocation’s data pre-filled, including the period, the assigned shift, and the selection criteria.

The name of the new allocated shift is automatically set to:
[Original Shift Name] Clone

Reviewing and Saving the Cloned Allocated Shift

Review the pre-filled data and make any adjustments needed, then click “Save” to create the new allocated shift.

Note: The new allocated shift is not saved until you click “Save”. The original allocation remains completely unchanged.

Note: All the same validation rules that apply when creating a new allocated shift apply here. If any required field is left empty, the following message will appear: “This is a required field and could not be empty.”

Note: After saving successfully, the new allocated shift is created with its own unique ID and a success confirmation message is displayed.
