“My Tasks” Widget in the Dashboard

This widget allows employees to view a quick summary of the tasks assigned to them in the Human Resource dashboard. It provides an overview of the number of assigned tasks and their current status without requiring them to navigate to the full task list.

Before You Start

  • Make sure the Task Management application is enabled from Apps Manager by navigating to Settings from the main menu.
  • The widget is visible only to users who have the View Own Tasks permission.
  • The widget must be enabled from the dashboard settings to appear among the Human Resource dashboard widgets.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Dashboard.
  2. Select the Human Resource dashboard.
  3. If the My Tasks widget is enabled, it appears among the dashboard widgets and displays the number of your tasks grouped by status (To Do, In Progress, and Completed), along with the total tasks assigned to you.
  4. Click the View All link to navigate to the full list of your tasks.
  • To enable or disable the widget:
  1. Click the Settings icon on the dashboard.
  2. Select Manage Widgets.
  3. Enable or disable the My Tasks widget toggle as needed.
  4. Save the dashboard settings by clicking Save to apply the change.

How the System Works

  • The widget displays only tasks assigned to the logged-in user and does not display tasks assigned to any other user.
  • The total number of tasks displayed in the widget represents the combined number of tasks in the three statuses (To Do, In Progress, and Completed).
  • Clicking View All takes the user to the My Tasks view, which is a filtering criterion within the general Task List screen rather than a completely separate screen.
  • When the widget is disabled from Manage Widgets, it is immediately hidden from the Human Resource dashboard, and the change takes effect immediately after saving.
  • If no tasks are assigned to the user, the following message appears: “You have no tasks assigned.”

Validation Rules

  • The widget is visible only to users who have the View Own Tasks permission.
  • The widget displays only tasks assigned to the current user and does not display tasks assigned to any other user.
