View Task Details

This screen enables authorized users to view all information related to a specific task in one place, allowing them to understand the task requirements, track its progress, and access related information.

Before You Start

  • Ensure that the Task Management app is enabled through Apps Manager by navigating to Settings from the main menu.
  • You must have the View Task permission to access this screen.

Steps

You can access the View Task Details screen in two ways:

Method 1: By Clicking the Task Title

  1. From the main menu, click Task Management.
  2. Click Tasks.
  3. Click the required Task Title directly from the Task List.

Method 2: From the Actions Menu

  1. From the main menu, click Task Management.
  2. Click Tasks.
  3. From the required task row, click the Actions icon, then select View.

After Opening the Screen:

  • At the top of the screen, a drop-down list displays the current Status of the task, such as “To Do” while the Priority and Task Code are displayed on the other side of the screen.
  • Below it, an Actions bar contains the following buttons: Edit, Re-Assign, Link Module, Add Note & Attachment, and Delete.
  • Below the Actions bar, there are two tabs: Details (selected by default when the screen opens) and Activity Log.
  • Under the Details tab, a section titled Task Information is displayed and divided into two columns:
    • The first column displays the task timeline and shows only the dates applicable to the current task status (Creation Date and Due Date). A red badge labeled “Overdue” appears next to the Due Date if the task has passed its due date without being completed.
    • The second column displays the Assignee (with contact information), Task Type, Description, and Target Record (or “No module linked” if the task is not linked to any module).
  • Below the Task Information section, a section titled History is displayed within the Details tab, showing the latest actions performed on the task, such as re-assignment.
  • To change the task status, select the new status from the drop-down list at the top of the screen, then confirm the change when the confirmation message appears.

How the System Works

  • All fields on this screen are displayed in read-only mode, except for the status drop-down list used to change the status and the available buttons at the top of the screen.
  • The Activity Log tab displays all actions performed on the task, arranged from the most recent to the oldest.
  • The behavior of the Target Module link depends on the linking status as follows:
    • If both the module and record are selected, clicking the link opens the selected record directly.
    • If the module is selected without a record, clicking the link opens the main screen of that module.
    • If no module is selected, the following text is displayed in this section: “No module linked.”
  • When a new status is selected from the drop-down list, the system asks for confirmation before applying the change.

Validation Rules

  • You cannot access the View Task Details screen without the View Task permission.
  • All task fields are displayed in read-only mode and cannot be edited directly from this screen.
  • The task status cannot be changed without confirming the change through the confirmation message that appears when the status is selected.
