What’s the difference between deactivating and deleting an approval configuration?

Deactivating is a temporary, reversible action; it stops the configuration from being used to match any new requests, but keeps it stored in the system, and you can reactivate it at any time.

Deleting is a permanent action that cannot be undone; it completely removes the configuration from the system with no way to recover it.

In both cases, any request linked to the configuration that was already being processed at the time of deactivation or deletion is unaffected — it continues normally until completion, and a request that has already been finally approved cannot be undone. A configuration linked to active requests also cannot be deleted; the system blocks this and displays a list of the linked requests for you to review first — while deactivation remains available at all times, regardless of whether active requests exist.
