Difference between a Product, Bundled Product, and Manufactured Product?
When managing inventory and setting up products in the system, each mechanism (Standard Product, Bundled Product, or Manufactured Product) serves a different role depending on your business nature and how your products are prepared. Understanding the differences between them helps you select the most suitable option for sales, production, and efficient inventory management.
1. Standard Product:
- Created as an independent product without any raw material components.
- Used when clients need ready-made products that can be sold directly without additional processing.
2. Bundled Product
A bundled product is divided into two types:
– Pack Bundle
- Requires no prior preparation.
- When a sales invoice is created, raw materials are automatically deducted from inventory.
– Compound Bundle
- Must be prepared before the sale.
- Requires creating a requisition via:
“Inventory” → “Manage Requisition” → “Add Requisition“. - Raw material quantities are fixed and cannot be modified.
– Manufactured Product
- Offers greater flexibility compared to bundled products.
- Allows control over the quantities of raw materials (variable, not fixed).
- Suitable for industrial production or when it is necessary to customize raw material ratios.
