How to Import Journal Entries
The system allows you to import journal entries through the journal entries import flow, with the ability to distinguish imported entries from manually created ones in the Activity Log — making it easier to track the origin of each entry when reviewing the audit trail.
Steps to Import
- Navigate to the “Journal Entries” list.
- Use the journal entries import flow to upload the required entries.
- Once the import completes successfully, each imported journal entry is created in the system.
Checking an Entry's Origin via the Activity Log
- Open any of the imported journal entries.
- Navigate to the “Activity Log” tab.
- Review the entry shown in the log.
Difference Between Imported and Manually Added Entries
- Imported entry: Appears in the Activity Log in the following format: “[User Name] Imported Journal Entry #[JRNxxx].”
- Manually added entry: Appears in the usual format: “[User Name] Added Journal Entry #[JRNxxx].”
The Activity Log entry for imported journal entries follows the same format, styling, timestamp, and user avatar as the existing “Added” entry — the only difference is the label indicating the entry came through import.
Notes
- This distinction applies only to the Activity Log label and does not change any other behavior related to the entry.
