Pin Actions and Customize Keyboard Shortcuts in Quick Actions

You can pin the actions you use most to the Pinned Actions group in Quick Actions and run them with a keyboard shortcut from any page without opening the screen. This guide explains pinning, shortcuts, and how to customize them from Commands Configuration.

🛈

Note: Your pins, shortcuts, and their order are personal and don’t affect other users.

Pin an action

  1. Open Quick Actions using the + button in the top bar or Ctrl + /.
  2. Hover over the action card, from the Quick Actions home screen, a system section, or the search results.
  3. Click the pin icon (Pin).

The action moves to the Pinned Actions group at the top of the screen.

Pin the current page

To pin the page you have open, click Pin Current Page at the end of the Quick Actions section; the page name appears below it. The message Page pinned successfully appears.

🛈

Note: If the message This page cannot be pinned yet. appears, this page isn’t available for pinning; search for the action you need in Quick Actions and pin it from its card.

Unpin an action

Hover over the pinned action and click the pin icon (Unpin). You can also delete the pin from Commands Configuration.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • The first 9 pinned actions automatically get the shortcuts Ctrl + Shift + 1 to Ctrl + Shift + 9 based on their order.
  • Actions pinned after the ninth don’t get a shortcut automatically, and you can assign one to them manually.
  • The shortcut appears below the action name in the Pinned Actions group.
  • Press the shortcut on any page to open the action directly without opening the Quick Actions screen.

🛈

Note: Shortcuts don’t work while you’re typing in a text field or while the Commands Configuration screen is open. Shortcuts also use the Ctrl key on Mac.

Commands Configuration

Open Commands Configuration in one of the following ways:

  • Click Configure at the top of the Quick Actions screen.
  • Or click Assign New Shortcuts at the end of the Quick Actions section.
  • Or click the gear icon on the pinned action card to edit it directly.

All pinned actions appear as cards, and each card contains:

Action list Change the pinned action. You can search it using Search commands.
Keyboard icon Assign keyboard shortcut.
Delete icon Delete pin.

After editing, click Save, and the message Configuration saved successfully appears.

FAQs

Can my colleagues see the actions I pinned?

No. Pins, shortcuts, and their order are personal to each user.

Why doesn’t the tenth action I pinned have a shortcut?

Because automatic shortcuts are only for the first 9 pinned actions. Assign a shortcut to it from Commands Configuration.

Why isn’t the shortcut working?

Make sure the cursor isn’t inside a text field and that the pinned action isn’t inactive.
