Why is my selected keyboard shortcut rejected?
Shortcuts for pinned actions always consist of Ctrl + Shift followed by a single English letter or number. The following keys cannot be selected and appear grayed out on the keyboard:
| Reason | Explanation |
|---|---|
| The key is reserved by the browser | The keys T, N, W, Q, P, I, J, C, R, B, O, D, and M are reserved because the browser uses them with Ctrl + Shift. |
| The key is already assigned to another action | Each shortcut can be assigned to only one action. |
| The key is not a letter or number | Shortcuts do not support symbols, function keys (F keys), or the Alt and Windows keys. |
How can you resolve the issue?
- Select a letter or number from the available keys (those with a clear outline).
- Alternatively, change the other action’s shortcut first to free up the key, then click Save.
