Can unit templates be shared across branches without sharing products?

Yes, unit templates can be shared across branches completely independently of product sharing. Once a unit template is created in a specific branch, it automatically becomes available in all other branches, even if the products themselves are not shared between those branches.

How Activation Works:

• From the Branches Settings, under “Branch Sharing Settings,” the “Unit Templates” sharing option can be enabled separately, regardless of whether product sharing is enabled or not.
• When the Products sharing option is enabled, the Unit Templates sharing option is automatically enabled along with it by default.
• However, the reverse isn’t true: if you disable product sharing afterward, the Unit Templates sharing option remains enabled as is, and doesn’t automatically turn off with it.

Note: when enabling unit template sharing, if duplicate templates already exist across branches, the system handles them using the same mechanism used when sharing products.
