Syncing Salla Variant Products With the System

The system allows you to sync updates to variant products (Item Groups) — such as products available in different sizes or colors — from the system back to Salla, once they’ve already been synced from Salla into the system. This guide explains how this reverse sync works, whether performed manually or automatically.

Before You Begin

This sync applies only to variant products originally created in the system as a result of a Salla → the system sync. Variant products created natively within the system (not via Salla) are not currently covered by this behavior.

Part 1: Manual Sync

When you make a change to a variant product in the system, then run a manual product sync:

  1. Navigate to the Salla product sync page.
  2. Start the manual sync process as you normally would — see the “Manual Product Sync With Salla” guide for more details on this step.

The system detects the following changes and reflects them on Salla:

  • Editing an Existing Variant: Any change to an existing variant’s data (such as price or stock) is sent to Salla, and the updates are reflected on the corresponding product there.
  • Adding a New Variant: When you create a new variant within the product in the system, it’s synced to appear as a new variant entry under that same product in Salla.

Part 2: Automatic Sync

The same behavior applies when the change occurs through the automatic sync mechanism instead of manual sync — any update to the variant product itself, or to any of its individual variants, is automatically synced to Salla without manual intervention from the user.

How Variant Data Is Synced to Salla

When syncing a variant product (manually or automatically) from the system to Salla:

  • Product Attributes: Attributes defined at the product level in the system (e.g., size, color) are synced as “Variant Options” on the corresponding product in Salla.
  • Each Individual Variant: Every individual variant within the product is synced as a standalone variant entry under that same product in Salla, preserving its individual properties (price, stock quantity).

Notes

  • If a variant is deleted from within the system, this deletion is not synced to Salla — the deleted variant remains visible as-is on Salla, unaffected, whether the sync was performed manually or automatically.
  • Make sure the product you’re editing in the system was originally synced from Salla, rather than created directly in the system, to ensure your changes are correctly reflected.
