Importing Assets via Excel
The process of adding assets to the system can be done individually for each asset or by uploading all assets in an Excel file at once. This guide explains how to prepare the Excel file and how to import the assets into the system in a few moments.
Reviewing the Excel File for Asset Data Import
Make sure that the Excel file contains all the necessary asset data that you wish to upload to the system. This should include the asset code, purchase price, cash account, useful life, and other relevant information.
How to Import Assets via Excel File
Click on “Assets” under “Accounting” in the main menu, then click on the “Import” button.
- Select the “Comma Separated” option and click on “Choose File” to upload the desired Excel file from your device.
- Depreciation Method: Choose the depreciation method for the assets listed in the Excel file.
- If you are using different depreciation methods for the assets, you should upload multiple Excel files, each containing assets with the same depreciation method.
- Click on the “Next Step” button.
Match the data in the Excel file containing the assets with the corresponding fields in the system so that the Daftra system can recognize the type of data being uploaded. Then, click the “Import” button.
A message will appear showing the number of assets successfully imported, as well as those that failed to import, along with an explanation of the error, so you can fix the issues that caused the failure.
After successfully importing the assets via the Excel file, you can go to the “Assets” dropdown under “Accounting” in the main menu to find the assets you uploaded to the system.
