Assets Custom Fields

asset’s custom fields allow you to add custom additional data that you want to appear in the asset file when adding it. Daftra offers a wide range of fields, varying in usage to serve all your business needs. In this guide, we will explore the types of these fields and how to customize them.

How to Add Assets Custom Fields?

A section of the default asset screen is now displayed, which you can use without any changes unless you need to create a new field.

If you want to add a field to the asset screen, you can go to “Accounting Settings” under “Accounting” in the main menu, then click on “Assets Custom Fields.”

A list of available field types will appear. All you need to do is drag and drop them and adjust the properties.

The field key must be unique, as using the same key for more than one field is not allowed; otherwise, an error message will appear:

“(Field name) has a duplicate value.”

The custom fields will appear in the asset file as shown after saving.

In addition to the properties of the previous fields, there are dynamic fields associated with dropdown menus that are linked to the database.

These options automatically appear as options for the employee to select from when clicking the dropdown, without the need for you to manually enter these options when creating the custom field.

Dynamic Field Properties:

  • Entity: You select the database associated with the field.
  • Lising Field: You choose the specific part to display as options for the field from this database.

You will notice that the countries’ database appears automatically in the system due to the dynamic nature of the field, which is linked to the countries’ database.
