How to Import Journal Entries

You may need to import journal entries from a ready Excel file, such as when you receive accounting entries from an external accountant or when migrating data from another accounting system. To simplify this process, the system provides a direct journal entry import feature, helping you save time and reduce errors.

Steps to Import Journal Entries:

  1. From the main menu, click “Accounting“.
  2. Go to “Journal Entries“.
  3. Click the “Import” button.
  4. Click “Choose File” and select the journal entries file you want to import.
  5. Select the delimiter “Comma Separated“.
  6. Import First Row: Enable this option if the file does not contain column headers.
  7. Entry Status: Choose whether the entry should be imported as “Issued” or “Draft“.
  8. Generate Entry Numbers Automatically: Enable this option if you want the system to generate journal entry numbers automatically during import.
  9. Click “Next Step“.
  10. Match the system fields with the fields in the uploaded file.
  11. Click “Import” to complete the process.
