How to Import Journal Entries
You may need to import journal entries from a ready Excel file, such as when you receive accounting entries from an external accountant or when migrating data from another accounting system. To simplify this process, the system provides a direct journal entry import feature, helping you save time and reduce errors.
Steps to Import Journal Entries:
- From the main menu, click “Accounting“.
- Go to “Journal Entries“.
- Click the “Import” button.
- Click “Choose File” and select the journal entries file you want to import.
- Select the delimiter “Comma Separated“.
- Import First Row: Enable this option if the file does not contain column headers.
- Entry Status: Choose whether the entry should be imported as “Issued” or “Draft“.
- Generate Entry Numbers Automatically: Enable this option if you want the system to generate journal entry numbers automatically during import.
- Click “Next Step“.
- Match the system fields with the fields in the uploaded file.
- Click “Import” to complete the process.
