What happens when only the “From” or “To” date is set in the Balance Sheet?
The “From” and “To” fields in the Balance Sheet report are both optional, and the report behaves as follows in each case:
- If only “From” is set: the report displays account balances from that date up to today.
- If only “To” is set: the report displays account balances from the beginning of records up to that date, including opening balances.
- If both fields are left empty: the report displays data up to today (default behavior).
The selected period appears in the report header and in printed and exported copies. Clearing either field and clicking “View Report” again returns the report to its default state.
