Setting up the SMTP Settings for Outlook emails
What is the SMTP?
Daftra sends emails by default on behalf of its users through the email address “maildelivery@daftra.com” to ensure messages successfully reach clients without being bounced back or rejected by the email server.
If you prefer to add your original email so that it becomes the sending and receiving email for all messages instead of sending via maildelivery@daftra.com, you will need to configure the SMTP settings on the account.
Settings up the SMTP settings for Outlook
- Usually, Outlook email blocks or rejects any connection from an unknown SMTP protocol. Therefore, you need to authenticate our service platforms with your Outlook email address in order to activate the mailing system within the “Daftra” software.
- From the main menu, click on “Settings”.
- Choose “SMTP Settings” from the list.
- Click on the checkbox “Send emails using my SMTP account”.
- Add your email details:
- Sender Name: Write the name that will appear to the client as the sender of the email. You can write your full name or the name of your company.
- Email Address: Enter your Outlook email.
- SMTP User Name: Re-enter your Outlook email.
- Main Password: Input your email password.
- Click on the “Save” button.
- Note: An error message is expected to appear due to the blocking by Outlook.
- Click on the following link to go to the Microsoft account page: https://account.live.com/Activity
- Now, log in to your Outlook account (the login might require account verification through email or phone number).
- A page will appear showing the recent activities related to this account, including the rejection status that occurred when the error message appeared in the previous step.
- Click on This was me.
- Return to the SMTP settings screen within the Daftra program.
- Make sure the data is set correctly in the fields and click the “Save” button again.
