Expense Sync and Sync Statuses

The Expenses app relies on a sync mechanism that links expenses recorded on your device to your account, so they’re automatically reflected in the main system and visible to other users. This guide explains the different sync statuses and how to manually retry syncing when needed.

Sync Statuses

Each expense goes through one of the following statuses, shown next to a dedicated icon at the top of the “Expense Details” screen:

  • Synced: The expense has been successfully uploaded and linked to your account, shown with a green cloud icon and a ✓ mark.
  • Sync: The expense is awaiting sync (currently uploading, or there’s no internet connection at the moment).
  • Failed: The expense could not be synced for some reason.

Manually Syncing a Single Expense

If an expense is in “Sync” or “Failed” status, you can manually retry syncing it:

  1. Open the required expense from the “Home” screen or the “Expenses List.”
  2. Tap the “More Options” (⋯) icon in the header.
  3. Select “Sync.”
  4. The app immediately attempts to upload the expense, and the status shown at the top of the screen updates based on the result.

Bulk Syncing from the "Account" Screen

You can also perform a bulk sync covering all expenses that haven’t been synced yet, without needing to open each expense individually:

  1. From the bottom navigation bar, tap “Account.”
  2. Tap the “Sync” item.
  3. The app attempts to sync all expenses still in “Sync” or “Failed” status at once.

Notes

  • Each expense’s status updates immediately on screen after a sync attempt succeeds or fails.
  • Manual sync for a single expense is available directly from within its details screen, while the “Account” screen lets you sync all pending expenses at once.
