Daftra ESS Attendance App

What is the ESS Attendance App of Daftra?

The ESS attendance registration app allows employees to self-log their attendance via mobile and also provides a number of attendance restrictions. You can apply one or all of them to the employee, requiring them to take a personal photo, verify the IP address of their device, or confirm their geographical location in order to record their attendance.

You can view the attendance logs of the employees through your Daftra system, as the ESS software is linked with the regular attendance App in Daftra.

Downloading the Attendance App (ESS)

The employee goes to the store to download:

Or go directly to the app through the link, and click on “Install” to download the application.

The Permission of Self-Logging Attendance for the Employee and the User

Both employees and users can self-log their attendance through the ESS mobile app. While employees are limited to self-logging, a user can review his/her attendance logs or those of other users (according to the permissions granted to them).

  • The employee can log his attendance directly upon entering the ESS system by scanning his dedicated barcode in his employment file.
  • The user must be allowed the Access to the System permission and choose an Employee Role that has the “Take His Own Attendance (Online)” permission.

Setting up the Attendance Restrictions for Employees

Attendance restrictions or criteria include three methods:

  • IP Address.
  • Geographical location range.
  • Taking a photo of the employee.

You can add any or all of them and set the desired criteria for each employee. If an attendance criterion is set, such as taking a photo, the employee is required to take a photo after clicking the “Sign” button in the ESS application to record their attendance.

Employee Self-Logging Attendance through the App

Click on “Manage Employees” which drops down from “Employees” in the main menu, then click on the name of the desired employee. Next, click the “Set Up Attendance Mobile App” button and scan the barcode from the employee’s phone app to open the ESS app for them. Alternatively, the employee can log in using email and password if they are a user.

You can review the difference between an employee and a user in Daftra through: “What is the difference between an employee and a user in Daftra?

After the employee opens their ESS app and logs in, a screen appears containing the employee’s name, date, time, and a “Sign” button.

If there are no attendance criteria for the employee, they can record their attendance simply by clicking the “Sign” button.

However, if there are attendance restrictions, such as taking a photo or verifying the geographical location, the criteria will appear after clicking the button. Perform the required action to confirm your attendance.

After the employee successfully records their attendance or departure autonomously, the time and details of the employee’s attendance log appear on the attendance log for the human resources manager in Daftra.
