The “The Site Is Currently Unavailable” Message Appears: Causes and Solution
If you see the message «The site is currently unavailable» while opening invoices, or you were redirected to a page whose link ends with /v2/suspended-site, the reason is most likely that the account’s subscription expired and wasn’t renewed within the grace period. The data itself isn’t deleted, but access to the system stops until renewal.
The message that appears differs according to the person opening the account, and this helps you know the cause and the solution quickly:
| The Message You See | Who Sees It | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| «The site is currently unavailable» | A client of the company on the client portal, or the owner after using Login as Client | The subscription of the company that owns the account has expired |
| «Your subscription has expired» with the Renew button | The account owner | The paid subscription has ended |
| «Your subscription has expired» with «Please contact the account owner to upgrade or renew your account» | Employees | The subscription has ended, and renewal is the owner’s permission only |
| «Your free trial period has ended» | Any user in a trial account | The free trial period has ended |
Case 1: You Are a Client of the Company and You Open Your Invoices from the Client Portal
In this case the account isn’t yours, but the account of the company you deal with, and their subscription has expired. There is nothing you can do from your side.
- Contact the company that sent you the invoice.
- Tell them that the client portal shows the message “The site is currently unavailable”.
- After they renew their subscription, the invoices will open for you normally.
Case 2: You Are the Owner and You Were Using “Login as Client”
If you entered one of your clients’ accounts to see what they see, the client’s message will appear instead of the renewal message, because the system treats you then as a client.
- Log out of the client’s account.
- Log in again with the owner’s account.
- The Your subscription has expired page will appear with the renew button, and continue from Case 3.
Case 3: You Are the Owner and the Subscription Expired
A paid subscription has an end date, and after it the system gives a grace period of a number of days. After the grace period ends, access to the system stops and the Your subscription has expired page appears.
- Log in with the owner’s account.
- Click the Renew button on the page, or open the Renewal Page directly.
- Choose the plan and complete the payment.
- After the payment is confirmed, open the account again, and you will find all your data as it is.
🛈
Note: The renewal page, the upgrade page, and logging out work even when the account is expired, so you don’t need any step before them.
Can I deactivate some employees before renewing?
Yes. The Employees page stays available to the owner even with an expired subscription, and from it you can deactivate or activate users, for example if you want to renew a plan with fewer users.
Case 4: You Are an Employee and Not the Owner
An employee cannot renew the subscription. If you try to open the renewal page, the message «Please contact the account owner to upgrade or renew your account» will appear.
- Inform the account owner or the manager responsible for the subscription.
- After the renewal, log in again.
Case 5: The Free Trial Period Ended
If you were trying the system for free and the period ended, the Your free trial period has ended page will appear.
- Log in with the owner’s account.
- Click Upgrade or open the Upgrade Page.
- Choose the suitable plan and complete the subscription.
🛈
Note: In the free account, one month after it was created, employees’ access stops, and they see the message «Only the main system administrator can log in to the system as the site has exceeded the trial period on the free plan». The owner alone can log in until the upgrade is made.
Case 6: The Account Is Suspended by the System Administration
In a few cases the account is suspended administratively even if the subscription is active, and a message appears that the account is suspended and you must contact us. In this case renewal won’t help; contact the support team directly and mention your account link.
Similar Messages That Don’t Mean the Subscription Has Ended
| The Message | The Cause | The Solution |
|---|---|---|
| «This user has been disabled» | The owner deactivated your account as an employee | Ask the owner to activate your account |
| «The user is not allowed to log in to the system» | Your account as an employee doesn’t have the permission to log in | Ask the owner to allow you to log in |
| «You need to activate the current branch or switch to another activated branch» | The branch you are working on isn’t activated | Change the branch or ask for it to be activated |
| «You cannot create more invoices because your account is suspended» | The subscription ended and exceeded the grace period | Renew the subscription |
