Can I Open Daftra in More Than One Window or Tab?

Yes, you can open Daftra in more than one browser window or tab at the same time and work on more than one screen together, such as opening an invoice in one tab and a report in another. You can also sign in with the same user from more than one device.

How do I open a screen in a new tab?

  • Click any item in the side menu or any link with the middle mouse button (the scroll wheel), or click it while holding Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac).
  • Or right-click the link and select Open link in new tab.

🛈

Note: main menu items that open a submenu don’t open in a new tab; open the submenu item you need instead.

What should I keep in mind when working in more than one window?

All windows open in the same browser share the same session, so any change to the following settings in one window applies to all windows:

Setting What Happens
Current branch When you change the branch in one window, all other windows switch to the same branch once you refresh them or take any action in them. So don’t work on two different branches in two windows at the same time, and refresh the other windows after changing the branch.
Filters Filters applied to lists are saved in the session, so the same filters may appear on the same list in another window.
POS session A POS session is linked to the user, not the window, and you can’t open two sessions for the same user at the same time.
Logging in as an employee When you log in as another employee, all windows switch to that employee’s account.

🛈

Warning: if you open an old window on a record from another branch after changing the branch, a message may appear saying that the record belongs to another branch and can’t be displayed from the current branch. Switch to the correct branch, then refresh the page.

Tips to avoid errors

  • Don’t open the same invoice or record for editing in two windows at the same time; there’s no warning for simultaneous edits, and only the last edit is saved.
  • Don’t click the save button more than once; wait until saving is complete to avoid duplicate records.
  • Refresh the window (F5) before working in it if it’s been open for a while, so the latest data appears.
  • To work on two different branches or accounts at the same time, use two different browsers, or a private browser window (Incognito).

When do all windows close and I need to sign in again?

  • When a user’s password is changed, the user is suspended, or they’re logged out from the employee page, they’re logged out of all windows and all devices.
  • When you log out from one window, you’re logged out of all windows in the same browser.
