You can create an invoice print template that matches the design of an invoice you have, by attaching an image of the invoice in the Assistant<\/strong> inside the Custom Invoice Builder<\/strong> and asking it to create a template with the same design. The Assistant<\/strong> edits the same open design and the result appears directly in the preview. You then review the template, complete it manually if needed, and save it with the Save<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

    How to access<\/h2>\n
      \n
    1. From the main menu, click Templates<\/strong>, then Printable Templates<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
    2. Click the Invoices & Estimates<\/strong><\/a> card.<\/li>\n
    3. To create a new template, click New Layout<\/strong>, then from Please select the initial template to be customized:<\/strong> select the design you want to start from. To edit an existing template, click the options button (\u2026) next to the template, then select Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The Custom Invoice Builder<\/strong> screen opens, with the Edit with AI<\/strong> button at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n

      Steps to create an invoice template from an image<\/h2>\n
        \n
      1. In the Custom Invoice Builder<\/strong> screen, click Edit with AI<\/strong>. The Assistant<\/strong> panel appears next to the template preview, with your AI balance at its top.<\/li>\n
      2. Click the Add attachment<\/strong> button (+) at the bottom of the panel, and select the invoice image in PNG<\/strong> or JPG<\/strong> format. The attached image appears above the request box.<\/li>\n
      3. Type your request in the Type your request…<\/strong> box, for example: \u201cCreate an invoice template that matches the design of the attached image\u201d, then click the send button (arrow).<\/li>\n
      4. Wait until the Assistant<\/strong> finishes building the template. Its reply appears below your request explaining the changes it made, along with the number of AIC<\/strong> used, and the preview updates with the new design.<\/li>\n
      5. Review the template in the preview. To change any part, type a new request in the same box and send it.<\/li>\n
      6. To complete editing manually, click Continue Manually<\/strong>. You return to the Custom Invoice Builder<\/strong> with the changes made by the Assistant<\/strong>, and you can go back to the Assistant<\/strong> at any time by clicking Edit with AI<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      7. Enter the template name in Template Name<\/strong>, check the Template Language<\/strong>, then click Save<\/strong>. The message Invoice layout has been saved<\/strong> appears and the template appears in the layouts list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        How it works<\/h2>\n
          \n
        • The Assistant<\/strong> edits the same design open in the Custom Invoice Builder<\/strong> and doesn’t create a separate template, so its changes appear when you click Continue Manually<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        • Your previous chat appears when you go back to the Assistant<\/strong> from Edit with AI<\/strong> on the same screen.<\/li>\n
        • The number of AIC<\/strong> used by the request appears below each reply, and the balance shown next to the Assistant<\/strong> decreases by the same amount.<\/li>\n
        • If the image contains data that this document type doesn’t support, the Assistant<\/strong> explains that in its reply.<\/li>\n
        • The template is saved with the Save<\/strong> button at the top of the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Note:<\/strong> If new custom columns are added to the template, the following message appears after saving: IMPORTANT NOTE: You have added new custom columns to your invoice layout, changes will be apply on newly created invoices only (i.e. Previously created invoices will still have the old template).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
