You can set the Tracking Type<\/strong> of a product while adding it from inside the invoice with quick add, without leaving to the products page to set it and then returning to the invoice. This guide explains how to set the tracking type during quick add, the available options, and how they affect the invoice and the product page.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> The Track Products Using Serial, Lot or Expiry Date<\/strong> option must be enabled from Inventory & Products Settings<\/strong><\/a> in the Product Tracking<\/strong> section, and you must have permission to add products.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Enable Product Tracking<\/h2>\n

    1. From the main menu, click Inventory<\/strong>, then Inventory & Products Settings<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
    2. Go to the Product Tracking<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n
    3. Enable the Track Products Using Serial, Lot or Expiry Date<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n
    4. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note:<\/strong> If you already have products with tracking recorded on them, the option appears enabled and cannot be turned off.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

      Set the Tracking Type from the Invoice<\/h2>\n

      1. Open a new invoice<\/strong><\/a> or a new purchase invoice<\/strong><\/a>, or any other sales or purchase document.<\/li>\n
      2. On the item line, click the items list to open it.<\/li>\n
      3. Click Add New Product<\/strong> at the bottom of the list. The add product window opens.<\/li>\n
      4. Enter the required product details, such as the name and the selling price.<\/li>\n
      5. Scroll down to the Inventory Management<\/strong> section and check Track Stock<\/strong>. The Tracking Type <\/strong>field appears.<\/li>\n
      6. Choose the suitable Tracking Type<\/strong> from the list. The default value is Quantity Only<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      7. Click Save<\/strong>. The product is added to the item line in the invoice with the tracking type you chose.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Tracking Type<\/th>\nUse<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
        Serial Number<\/strong><\/td>\nTracks each unit with its own serial number, such as electronic devices.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Lot Number<\/strong><\/td>\nTracks quantities by lot or batch number.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Expiry Date<\/strong><\/td>\nTracks quantities by expiry date.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Lot Number And Expiry Date<\/strong><\/td>\nTracks quantities by both lot number and expiry date, such as medicines and food.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Quantity Only<\/strong><\/td>\nTracks only the quantity in stock, with no serial number, lot, or expiry date. This is the default value.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
