The accounts list in Journal Entries<\/strong> and the Journal Account<\/strong> field in Expenses<\/strong> show only the sub-accounts that are available for use. If the account you’re looking for doesn’t appear, check the following causes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Cause<\/th>\nHow to check<\/th>\nSolution<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
The account is suspended.<\/td>\nA Suspended<\/strong> indicator appears next to the account in the Chart of Accounts<\/strong><\/a>.<\/td>\nClick the actions button (\u22ef) next to the account, and choose Reactivate<\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The account is hidden.<\/td>\nThe account doesn’t appear in the Chart of Accounts<\/strong><\/a> unless you turn on Show Hidden<\/strong> at the top of the page, and a Hidden<\/strong> indicator appears next to it.<\/td>\nClick the actions button (\u22ef) next to the account, and choose Unhide<\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The account isn’t assigned to the branch you’re working in.<\/td>\nThis happens when the Accounts Specified in The Chart of Accounts per Branch<\/strong> option is turned on in Branches Settings<\/strong><\/a>, so each account appears only in the branches it’s assigned to.<\/td>\nOpen the account and click Edit<\/strong>, then add the branch from the Permissions<\/strong> section. Or create the transaction from the branch the account is assigned to.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The account isn’t among the first results in the list.<\/td>\nThe list shows a limited number of accounts.<\/td>\nType the account name or code in the search box inside the list.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Note:<\/strong> Parent accounts don’t appear in this list, because journal entries and expenses are recorded on sub-accounts only.
