The Suspend<\/strong> option appears on every account in the Chart of Accounts<\/strong><\/a>, but the system refuses to suspend an account in certain cases and shows a message explaining why. Find the message you see in the table below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Cause<\/th>\nMessage<\/th>\nSolution<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
The account is one of the main accounts: Assets, Liabilities, Owner’s Equity, Revenue or Expenses.<\/td>\nThis account can not be suspended<\/strong><\/td>\nMain accounts can’t be suspended.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The account is a parent account with sub-accounts that aren’t suspended.<\/td>\nThis account has 1 active sub-accounts. Suspend them first, or move them under a different parent.<\/strong> The message shows the number of active sub-accounts.<\/td>\nSuspend the sub-accounts first, or move them under a different parent account, then suspend the parent account.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The account is linked to an automatic system routing, such as the Discount Allowed account.<\/td>\nThis account is linked to system routing and can not be suspended<\/strong> with an Accounting Routing<\/strong> link.<\/td>\nThese accounts can’t be suspended, because the system uses them in automatic journal entries.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The account is selected in accounts routing.<\/td>\nThis account is selected in accounting routes, to suspend this account you should remove it from accounting routing first<\/strong> with a link to the routing page.<\/td>\nOpen the link in the message, select a different account in the routing, then suspend the account.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The account is the default account in the inventory settings.<\/td>\nYou cannot suspend an account that is assigned as a default account<\/strong> with a Settings<\/strong> link.<\/td>\nChange the default account from Inventory Settings<\/strong><\/a>, then suspend the account.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The user doesn’t have the Manage Journal Accounts permission.<\/td>\nYou are not allowed to view this page<\/strong><\/td>\nAsk the account owner to add the permission to your role from Roles<\/strong><\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
