The behavior depends specifically on the payment certificate\u2019s status:<\/p>\n

Editing:<\/strong>
\nA payment certificate with the \u201cApproved\u201d<\/strong> or \u201cInvoiced\u201d<\/strong> status cannot be edited under any circumstances. When attempting to edit it, the following message appears: \u201cYou can\u2019t update an \u2018[Status Name]\u2019 payment certificate.\u201d Other statuses (Draft<\/strong> and Issued<\/strong>) remain editable as normal.<\/p>\n

Deleting:<\/strong>
\nA payment certificate can be deleted regardless of its status, including Approved<\/strong> and Invoiced<\/strong>, provided that no newer payment certificate has been created after it. If a newer payment certificate exists, the following message appears: “Payment Certificate #\u00a0cannot be deleted because Payment Certificate #\u00a0was created after it. Delete the newer certificate first.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

When deletion is allowed, the Delete Payment Certificate<\/strong> confirmation dialog appears with the following message: \u201cThis will permanently delete Payment Certificate #000008 along with its linked Sales Invoice #000011 and its journal entry. Project quantities, work item progress, and the contract’s advance payment recovery capacity will be restored. This action cannot be undone.
