An existing record is updated instead of creating a new record only when all<\/strong> of the following conditions are met:<\/p>\n

  1. The reference ID extracted from the transaction already exists<\/strong> among the records of the same bank account.<\/li>\n
  2. The existing record is not yet matched to a journal entry<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. The \u201cUpdate Existing Records\u201d<\/strong> option was enabled<\/strong> when the files were uploaded.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In this case, all extracted fields (Reference ID, Date, Description, Deposit, and Withdrawal) are completely overwritten with the new values from the uploaded file, and the row is assigned the \u201cUpdated\u201d<\/strong> status.<\/p>\n

    • If the reference ID already exists but is already matched to a journal entry<\/strong>, the record is not updated. Instead, the row is classified as \u201cInvalid\u201d<\/strong> with the \u201cAlready matched to a journal entry\u201d<\/strong> sub-type. You must resolve this row manually by either inserting it as a new record or ignoring it before completing the save process.<\/li>\n
    • The \u201cUpdated\u201d<\/strong> column in the count summary at the top of the screen is displayed only<\/strong> when the \u201cUpdate Existing Records\u201d<\/strong> option is enabled.
