The difference between the two options relates to how the system handles scale barcode scans when the same product is scanned more than once on an invoice or POS order:<\/p>\n
Merge into Existing Line:<\/strong> When the same product is scanned multiple times, the weight from each scan is added to the quantity of the existing line without creating a new one, and the price is recalculated automatically on the same line. This is the default system behavior.<\/p>\n Add as Separate Line:<\/strong> Each barcode scan always creates a new independent line for the product, regardless of whether the same product already exists on a previous line and regardless of whether the scanned weight matches a previously scanned weight. Each line carries its own weight as the quantity and the unit price from the product file. Previously scanned lines for the same product are not modified.<\/p>\n Example:<\/strong> Scanning cheese at 0.450 kg then at 0.380 kg produces two separate lines: Cheese \u00d7 0.450 kg and Cheese \u00d7 0.380 kg.
