While the system automatically strips trailing characters that some scanners may append, if the barcode itself is incorrect or damaged no result will be returned.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\n<blockquote><p><strong>Permissions:<\/strong> If you are restricted to viewing specific clients only, the client will not appear in search results even if the barcode matches \u2014 check your client access permissions in your assigned role.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">\n<blockquote><p><strong>Branch restrictions:<\/strong> If the Branch plugin is active, barcode lookup is scoped to clients within your accessible branches only.
