When scanning the invoice QR code it doesn’t give the link?

The QR code is automatically functional with the “Electronic Invoice” App, and is intended to provide key information that are announced by the Zakat and Income Authority as the main requirements or the of the first phase of the electronic invoice system which was implemented in starting from Dec the 4th 2021.


The key information announced by the authority include the “business name”, “tax number”, “tax amount”, “total invoice amount”, and “issue date and time of the invoice”. These data are sent to the authority in an encoded form using one of the base64 data transfer encryption systems.


If scanning the QR Code does not yield the results mentioned above, you should ensure to follow the following steps:

  • First, you must use the official application of the Zakat and Income Authority, “ZATCA” to scan the QR Code.
  • Secondly, make sure to correctly enter the VAT number within the “Account Settings” under the “Settings” menu.
