When scanning the invoice QR code it doesn’t give the link?

The QR code is automatically functional with the “Electronic Invoice” App and is intended to provide key information that is announced by the Zakat and Income Authority as the main requirements or the first phase of the electronic invoice system which was implemented starting from Dec the 4th 2021.


The key information announced by the authority includes the “business name”, “tax number”, “tax amount”, “total invoice amount”, and “issue date and time of the invoice”. These data are sent to the authority in an encoded form using one of the base64 data transfer encryption systems.


If scanning the QR Code does not yield the results mentioned above, then the following steps should be ensured:

  • First, the official app of the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority “ZATCA” should be used to scan the QR Code.

  • Second, ensure that the VAT number is correctly added in the “Account Settings” found in the “Settings” menu.
